I'm 23 years old and live in Norway. I'm in my third year of a bachelorette in teaching and have one year left. When I'm finished my specialities will be practicle and esthetical courses such as: music, art, physical education, home economics and Norwegian. I'm also taking extra courses in English. I thought that would be smart seeing as teaching jobs can be hard to come by, especially if I don't have enough (or the right) courses to offer.
I'm married to my best friend, and we have two cats named Lucas and Brutus.

Interests:
I have quite a few interests.
FOOD: I love food and cooking. I'm especially fond of what most people would call "molecular gastronomy". I love to watch and read about what Heston Blumenthal does with food. Here at home we especially love using his recipe for triple cooked chips.
SPORTS: I really enjoy exercise and sports. I train Advanced TaeKwon-Do and have done so since February 2010. Since then I've gained a red belt with a black stripe. An achievement I'm quite proud of after such a short time frame.
I have also done dance (both ballet and modern) and played volleyball.
Other sports I enjoy include: floor hockey, kushinkai karate, football (soccer), skiing (both crosscountry and downhill), ice scating, swimming, gymnastics, yoga and sprinting.
MUSIC: I grew up in a home where music was always found. When I was little I would sing (more like Ooo-ing and Aaa-ing) when my mom and dad would sing harmonies together. I also became engadged in choirs when I was quite young (my dad was a director).
I started learning to play the piano when I was around 8-9 years old and have played off-and-on since then. I also started learning to play the cello when I was around 9-10. I kept playing until I was 16 and have played off-and-on since then. My main instrument has always been voice. I started taking lessons when I was 14, and started becoming interested in composing my own music.
I went to an upper secondary school especially for music where my main instrument was voice. My second instrument was piano, and my third cello.
During my second year of upper secondary (when I was 17) I tried out to become the director of a university choir and succeded. There I stayed until I was 20.
Now I'm studying to become a teacher in music (among other things). I'll mostly be teaching the kids how to play in a band (drums, gitar, bass gitar, xylophone, keyboard, other percussion instruments, voice), but I'm also going to try to sneak a few other things in.
I really like accapella music when arranged well (The Real Group is my fav). Other groups/musicians/composers I like include: Ingrid Michaelson, Rihanna, Laleh, Kings of Leon, Bjork, Maria Mena, Adele, Taylor Swift, Billie Holliday, Aretha Franklin, Queen, The Beatles, Over the Rhine, John Williams, Regina Spektor, Dirty Projectors, Arctic Monkey, Feist, Brandi Carlile, Kaizers Orchestra, Norah Jones, Laura Marling, The Rapture, Take That, Toto, Michael Jackson, R.E.M., a lot of musicals (especially Andrew Lloyd Webbers'), Bobby McFerrin, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Muse, Coldplay, Ludwig van Beethoven, Arnold Schoenberg, and many, many more. I could go on and on and on. :P
LITTERATURE AND AUTHORS: This is another category I've been well versed in since childhood. My dad was very good at reading to us before we went to bed. We especially loved hearing him make up voices for each of the animals in C.S. Lewis's: The Chronicles of Narnia.
I was also encouraged by my school to read 100 books in a 2 month period (I was in second grade). They tried to lure me in by saying that if I was able to do it they would give me 1-2 discounted tickets to our local Six-flags. Of course I did it (with quite a lot of help), because I love amusement parks!
Other than C.S.Lewis, I like J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games Trilogy, J.R.R Tolkien's: The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series, Christopher Paolini's Inheiritance series, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Carolyn Keene's Nancy Drew books and most of Victoria Holt's books.
Movies and series:
MOVIES: I like, and have seen, quite a few movies. I particularly like Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Incredibles, Up, Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, Hitched, Star Wars, Cool Runnings, Batman Begins, Batman - the Dark Knight +++
SERIES: Again, quite a few. My absolute favorites are Bones and Criminal Minds. Others include: The Mentalist, House, Monk, N.C.I.S., CSI (New York is my favorite, but I like them all), Q.I. (quite interesting), Cold Case, Eggheads, Life, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Smallville +++
Quotes:
I have a ton of favorite quotes, so I won't write them all here. But here are two of them:
"A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he (or she) is to be ultimately at peace with himself. What one can be, one must be" - Abraham Maslow
"Don't let fear of failure or the feeling of discomfort prevent you from going after what you really want" - unknown
